Patch Picks: Stuff To Do This Week

Running out of ideas for summer fun? Try these.

1. Cool music in a cool setting: A jazz band from Japan plays every Thursday and Saturday—including Aug. 11 and 13—at the Winery at. St. George in Mohegan Lake through September. http://patch.com/A-kCLg.

2. Concert for a cause: The latest in the summer series—proceeds of which go to charity—takes place Friday at Paulie's Bar and Grill in Pleasantville. 3. Walk on the Constitution: Take a 2-hour tour of Constitution Island in the Hudson River up by West Point. In fact, the tours start at West Point, at the South Dock. The tour includes a garden walk, guided Revolutionary War Trail walk and more. Call 845-446-8676 for further details. 4. Improv in Putnam: The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival knows that going to the theater does not always have to be a button-down affair. In the interest of having an old-fashioned good time, HVSF has partnered with the Philipstown Depot Theatre to present In Processa series of contemporary performances Aug. 10 and 12. Returning for a second season, In Process HVSF actors in a no holds barred environment, serving up unpredictable improv, staged readings and more.  All In Process performances are free; however donations will be accepted at the door. Seating is limited and tickets may be reserved through Brown Paper Tickets. The Philipstown Depot Theatre is located at 10 Garrison Landing in Garrison. 

5. Summer sounds on the Sound: bluegrass. The concert series at , 94 Hudson Park Rd., New Rochelle, continues at 7 p.m. Aug. 10. Straight Drive is a 6-piece band playing traditional and original bluegrass and Appalachian music. Foot-tapping.
