Pelham Town Board to Hold Hearing On Tax Cap Override

Public hearing on law to override 2 percent property tax cap will take place on Nov. 7

The Pelham town board is taking steps toward an override of the 2 percent property tax cap.

The board voted 4 to 0 to hold a public hearing on a resolution to override the state mandated property tax cap during Monday’s meeting. Town Supervisor Joseph Solimine and Councilman Peter DiPaola were present at the meeting while council members Dan McLaughlin and Rae Szymanski, who were unable to the attend meeting, voted using a speaker phone.

Councilman William O’Conner wasn’t present Monday and did not vote.

The  public hearing on the resolution will take place on Nov. 7. Check back for more details on this story later today.
