Police: Pelham Man Robbed and Beat Girlfriend

Police say a Pelham man beat his girlfriend and then stole her cell phone, according to lohud. The incident happened after the couple got into an argument about their relationship in New Rochelle.

Leon Creer, 24, is accused of slamming his girlfriend's head against a parked car. Creer then choked, punched and kicked her. Witnesses had to rescue the woman and pull Creer off of her.

Creer, who lives at 715 Pelhamdale Avenue, was caught by cops nearby with his girlfriend's cell phone in his pocket. Police say Creer's girlfriend's head was swollen when they found her and there was a cut over her eye.

New Rochelle Police are charging the 24-year-old with criminal obstruction of breath or blood circulation, felony third-degree robbery and assault.
