Salsa Music, Dogs Washes and Art Shows

Why go:  
Willie Villegas Y Entre Amigos will perform salsa at the Yonkers Amhitheatre. Villegas has played with such noted performers Eddie Palmieri, and Tito Puente, so get ready to dance to some on Friday.

Why go:
The an annual exhibition will feature the selected artworks of the art center's teachers and students. Many of these works will be available for sale to the public. This exhibition is a great opportunity to see and buy original and reasonably-priced works from emerging and established talent. Visitors and prospective students of all ages may participate in a free all-age art workshop held in the studios. In addition, the public is invited to meet the teaching artists, discuss course offerings with them, and see their artworks.

3. New York, Westchester & Boston Railway Centennial Celebration

, 1 Library Plz., New Rochelle, Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m to 6 p.m.
Why go:
The New Rochelle Public Library is hosting a series of presentations and exhibits celebrating the 100th anniversary of the New York, Westchester & Boston Railway. The list of presenters is available here. There will also be a bus tour of old New York, Westchester & Boston Railway sites

Free. Tickets for the bus tour cost $25.

EJ Murray Memorial Skating Center, 348 Tuckahoe Rd, Yonkers; Saturday, July 14, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Why go:
The Country Clubbers, Westchester's most exclusive institution, take on their atomic adversaries, the Indian Point Sirens, in an epic battle on the flat track. Will the Clubbers hang on to their Championship trophy, or will the Sirens blow everyone away? Tickets available here.
Pricing:
Tickets range from $12 to $20. Children under 8 are free.

, 70 Portman Rd, New Rochelle; Sunday, July 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why go:
The 12th annual Dog Wash to benefit the New Rochelle Humane Society will feature dog washes, nail clipping and microchipping, along with games, activities, demonstrations, food, exhibitors and raffle. Dog washes range from $20 to $40; nail clipping is $10 and microchipping is $40.
