Westchester Man Up For 3 Tony Awards

It will be an exciting night for Eastchester's Kenneth Posner during this year's Tony Awards. Posner is up for three awards for best lighting design in a musical. The musicals that Posner worked on include "Kinky Boots," "Pippin," and "Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella."

This year is the 67th anniversary of the Tony Awards. Posner will be traveling down to Radio City Music Hall for the June 9 event. The Awards will be broadcast on CBS from 8 until 11 p.m.

Posner has already won a Tony for the 2007 production of "Coast of Utopia Part 2 - Shipwreck." He has now been nominated for a Tony ten times.

"The material, the designs, the scenic designs and the directorial styles were all so different so the lighting had to be tailored to each of those productions, so automatically the process becomes a little different," Posner told lohudblogs' Peter D. Kramer.

Neil Patrick Harris will return to host this year's Tony Awards ceremony.
