American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mount Vernon Kick Off Party

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mount Vernon will hold its kick off party to launch this year's fundraising efforts on Thursday, February 27 at the Steam House, 128 Gramatan Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY from 6PM to 8PM.

The kick-off party offers information about the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives faster by helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures and fighting back.

Relay For Life is an overnight event where teams of local businesses, schools, churches, community groups and families build awareness and raise funds - prior to and at the event - to fight cancer. While the main objective of Relay For Life is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event helps spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer.

This year’s American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Mount Vernon will be held from 7:00PM, June 13 to 7:00AM, June 14 at Mount Vernon High School. Volunteers are needed to organize and recruit teams, secure community support, coordinate logistics, obtain refreshments and prizes, assist with publicity and plan entertainment activities for this exciting and energizing event.

Anyone interested in forming a team, volunteering for the event, joining the planning committee, or just learning more about Relay For Life is encouraged to attend this kick off.

RSVP by Wednesday February 19th to our Event Chair, Jacene Thomas at MTVNYRELAY@gmail.com.
