Mount Vernon City Council Candidates Debate August 28 at Wartburg

 Wartburg is pleased to host a Democratic Primary City Council Debate on its campus on Wednesday, August 28, from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.  The seven candidates who have agreed to participate are incumbent Mount Vernon City Council members:  Yuhanna Edwards and Roberta Apuzzo, along with candidates Andre Bailey, Maria Caracalla, Marcus Griffith, Damon Jones and Damaris Mone. The Westchester County Homeowners’ Coalition (WCHC) is sponsoring this event for the community in concert with several community organizations including:  the Fleetwood Neighborhood Association, Oakwood Heights Homeowners’ Association, Chester Hill Park Neighborhood Association, Lorraine Terrace Condominiums and Fleetwood Residents.

 “The WCHC organization is committed to fellow homeowners and citizens of Mount Vernon, to produce a debate platform that will differentiate the quality of the city council candidates,” said Derickson K. Lawrence, Chair of WCHC.

Seating is limited, so an early arrival is recommended; the debate will begin promptly at 7 pm.  The audience will have an opportunity to complete question cards for the candidates upon arrival.  Those unable to attend are invited to submit questions at www.WestchesterCountyHC.org.

The Primary election will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
