Last-Minute Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Recipe

With a perfectly-cooked turkey typically the star of a picture-perfect Thanksgiving meal, dessert can unintentionally become an afterthought.

Thankfully, Patch blogger Victoria Hart Glavin has got you covered with her version of a straightforward traditional pumpkin pie recipe.

Traditional Pumpkin Pie Recipe
(serves 8)

Ingredients

1 1/2 Cups Pumpkin Puree

2 Large Eggs

1 Cup Whole Milk

1/2 Cups Pure Maple Syrup

1 Tablespoon Unbleached Flour

1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

1/2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger

1/4 Teaspoon Kosher Salt

1 (9 Inch) Piecrust

Sweetened Whipped Cream Spiked With Bourbon (Optional)

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place piecrust into pie pan. In a medium-size bowl, whisk together pumpkin and eggs. Blend Well. Add milk, maple syrup, flour, cinnamon, ginger, and kosher salt. Whisk to blend well. Pour filling into piecrust. Bake pie for 55 to 60 minutes until center is just set. Remove from oven and let cool. Serve with shipped cream spiked with bourbon if you want.
