Reliable, generous fourth and fifth graders sought to peer tutor ExL students

HUTCHINSON SCHOOL — Some of the fourth and fifth graders will be starting a program with the ExL students. They will become peer tutors and will help these children play and do different things.

HUTCHINSON SCHOOL — Some of the fourth and fifth graders will be starting a program with the Experiential Learning Program students. They will become peer tutors and will help these children play and do different things.

“What the ExL students really need is attention that the peer students give them,” said Mrs. Janine Laruccia in an interview after school on Oct. 18.

Mrs. Laruccia has been doing this program for more than 25 years, and the first school that she taught at in Pelham was Prospect Hill. She is looking for peers who are reliable, compassionate, giving and good students.
