Time to Blog - Time to Fundraise

Spring is the time to fund raise.

Hello, Pelham Patch.  Just a few days ago, I was asked to be an official Patch blogger.  I considered this proposal for a day, ran it by my necessary channels and then agreed.  So this is my first blog post and I look very forward to conversations, resource sharing, information gathering and all sorts of good times, blogging with everyone.

I know that in the spring as the weather gets warmer, many organizations hold large fundraising events.  Whether the Relay for Life, selling lemonade, or bake sales, spring is the time to “get the word out” and try to successfully conclude everyone’s efforts.

In that spirit, the church I serve, Huguenot Memorial Church, is having a car wash and yard sale this coming Saturday from 8 am until 2 pm.  The money we raise will be spent to send over 55 Pelham residents on two separate mission trips; one to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the other to Ticuantepe, Nicaragua.  Many of the youth and adults who go on these trips are not members of Huguenot, but are involved because of their love to serve those less fortunate.

So I leave you with two thoughts:

  • If you are around this Saturday and need your car washed, come to Huguenot Memorial Church, we’d be happy to do it
  • If you are a member of an organization or group doing a spring fundraiser, post the information in the comments.  Let’s get the conversation started.
