Travel Alert: Lane Closures Scheduled on Bronx River, Sprain Brook Parkways in Yonkers Tuesday

Motorists should expect delays in the area of DeWitt and Midland avenues in the City of Yonkers Tuesday.

Sections of the Bronx River and Sprain Brook parkways in Yonkers will be closed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, for sign structure maintenance, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Two southbound lanes on the Bronx River Parkway and one  southbound lane on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the vicinity of DeWitt and Midland avenues in the City of Yonkers will be closed.  A rain date for the maintenance has been scheduled for  Wednesday, June 20.  


Major delays are expected on the Sprain Brook Parkway; minor delays are expected on the
Bronx River Parkway.  Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Drivers are asked to pay attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.  Fines are doubled for speeding and two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result  in the suspension of the driver’s license.
