Question of the Day: Did you feel the earthquake?

Around 2 p.m. yesterday some people reported feeling a strange rumble for about 30 seconds and others felt nothing at all.  that hit Virginia rattled up and down the East Coast.

In Yorktown, the tremble caused a flood of calls to the Yorktown Police Department, but no serious damage was reported.

So, where were you when it hit? Did you feel it?

I was in my office in the Bronx (on the 9th floor)...the whole building shook for about 30 seconds. Some people panicked and started running down the stairs to exit the building. I assumed it was due to some repairs being done on the floor below. When I found out it was an earthquake I immediately called the Yorktown Chief of Police to make sure our town was okay. Only when he assured me that everything was fine could I really finally relax!

Good for you Councilman Martorano. I read Mr. Lewis' post "Plamena, next time something this big happens please get a quote from Mr. DiBartolo or Mr. Bianco about how they are ensuring Yorktown's infrastructure has not been damaged. I don't know what I would do without them looking out for my welfare?" At least you did something to make sure our town was okay!
