$2,500 Award Offered for Information in Pelham, New Rochelle Robberies

Police are still investigating two armed robberies in Pelham and one armed robbery in New Rochelle that took place last month.

New York State Crime Stoppers, in cooperation with the Village of Pelham and City of New Rochelle Police Departments is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information directly leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for multiple armed robberies that have occurred in Pelham and New Rochelle over the past few weeks.

On January 12, 2012 at approximately 12:10 a.m. a commuter walking home from the train station in Pelham was approached while on First Street near Cliff Avenue by an assailant brandishing a black semi-automatic hand gun and robbed of personal possessions.  On January 29, 2012, two females, one a student at Iona College, were approached by an assailant brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun as they entered a building on Eastchester Road near White Oak Street. The victims were robbed of personal possessions. On January 31, 2012, a commuter walking home from the train station on the 200 block of Monterey Avenue in Pelham was approached by an assailant brandishing a black semi-automatic handgun and robbed of personal possessions.

In all of the robberies the suspect was described as a black male, 5’10 to 6’0” in height, with a medium build (175 to 200 lbs) wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYS Crime Stoppers hot line at 1-866-313-TIPS (8477). A Reward will be paid for information that directly leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime. Any information could be very important and lead to the solving of this crime.
