Blown Transformer Causes Power Outage on Wolfs Lane

Wolfs Lane shops and customers left without power for nearly three hours on Friday morning.

Power returned to Wolfs Lane at about 9:15 a.m. after a nearly three-hour outage due to a blown out transformer in Mount Vernon.

At around 6:25 a.m. the power went out on Wolfs Lane between First and Second Streets, according to Michael Shriman of Pelham’s Department of Public Works. A blown out transformer in Mount Vernon caused the outage, leaving the strip’s shop owners and customers in the dark.

Con Edison, who was not available share what caused the outage, rectified the problem and the DPW put out stop signs to help direct traffic.
