Bronx Man Nabbed in Pelham for Bogus Concert Ticket Scam

Police: Pelham detective assaulted in undercover buy at train station.

Pelham police arrested Zenique Belance, 19, Bronx, for alleged fraud on Nov. 28.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint from a person who answered an online ad for concert tickets at Madison Square Garden. After arranging a meeting, the victim paid $700 cash for what they thought were five tickets to a recent concert, but found out the tickets were bogus.

Police found an online ad with the same contact phone number that the victim called and arranged a meeting at the Pelham train station.

A Pelham police detective met the man, who called himself Adrian, at the train station and he identified himself as the man from the ad. When the detective revealed he was as a police officer, the man hit the officer and attempted to flee, but was caught and arrested. Police later identified the man as Zenique Belance.

According to the police report, Belance later told police he had fake concert tickets, but "it was no big deal."
