A Bronx man who tried to flee the scene after hitting a New Rochelle teenager with his car Saturday night is scheduled to appear in New Rochelle city court next month.
Marcos Garcia was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident which caused serious injury, a felony, after he hit 13-year-old boy with his car near the intersection of Center Avenue and Huguenot Street.
The accident took place at about 8:15 p.m., according to New Rochelle police. Garcia allegedly hit the teen and kept driving along before Pelham Manor police eventually stopped him on Boston Post Road.
Police said the teen suffered a broken leg as a result of the accident. Garcia was arrested and released on bail.
He appeared in city court earlier this morning and is scheduled to reappear in court at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 6.
