Fleetwood Nursing School Receives Hoax Bomb Call

Police say bomb call was hoax.

Mount Vernon police responded to a potential bomb call at the Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing, 53 Valentine Street today at approximately 3:49 p.m.

Mount Vernon police and fire quickly responded to the scence and determined there was no bomb. Students were evacuated from the campus for their safety for at least an hour following the call.

Police continue to investigate, but there appears to be no credibility to the call at this time.

the serious content of the story notwithstanding...the dorothea hopfer school of nursing at the mount vernon hospital is not and never was located in the fleetwood section of the city, unless you consider a block that is literally a stone's throw away from city hall and the railroad tracks to be in "fleetwood".

Thanks, Gene. I'll be learning a lot about the area in days to come. The information was relayed as reported by the police.
