NYPD Officer Pleads Not Guilty in Alleged Drunken Pelham Shooting

New York City police officer Brendan Cronin, who was off duty at the time, allegedly fired his gun more than a dozen times at the car.

The New York City police officer accused of attempted murder in connection with the alleged drunken shooting of a New Rochelle man and his friend in Pelham has pleaded not guilty.

Reporter Greg Shillinglaw of The Journal News writes that 27-year-old Brendan Cronin entered his plea before Judge Barbara Zambelli Thursday morning in Westchester County Court.

Cronin was in court for his arraignment, which Zambelli continued, and going forward Cronin must avoid any contact with Joseph Felice and Robert Borrelli as part of a protection order.

Felice and Borrelli were in a car at a traffic light following a recreational hockey game when Cronin allegedly approached and began firing a gun. Felice was struck six times; Borrelli, who was not hit, was able to drive the two to the hospital in time to save Felice's life.

Cronin, who was off duty at the time, allegedly fired his gun more than a dozen times at the car.

Felice and Borrelli have filed a lawsuit against Cronin, the NYPD and Commission William Bratton for $90 million, according to media reports.
