Sunday was at least the second time a Boston Post Rd. gas station manager in Pelham Manor suspects one of his regular customers of stealing firewood from his Pelham Manor station. But this time, the would-be fire starter was caught red-handed.
According to Pelham Manor police reports, the gas station manager says he saw the customer helping himself to firewood last Sunday afternoon. The manager had reported a similar incident on December 20 but did not recall the man's name. On this occasion, the manager confronted the man and called Pelham Manor police to report the incident.
After police talked to both parties, the customer paid for the items and the gas station manager decided not to press charges.
