Pelham Police Arrest Man with Stolen Gun; Investigating Possible Link to Train Station Robberies

Pelham police arrested a man in possession of a stolen hand gun earlier today and are determining if he is responsible for a string of armed robberies that have taken place near New Haven Line Train Stations.

Pelham police are determining if a man who was found with a stolen handgun earlier today is the same person responsible for a string of armed robberies that have taken place near train stations in Pelham, Harrison and Mamaroneck.

At about 5:20 a.m., a police officers arrested a man who was sitting inside a car parked on the 100 block of Corlies Avenue, according to an e-mail sent out by village officials. When police looked through the vehicle, they found a handgun that was reported stolen in Pennsylvania.

Police are still determining if the man is the same suspect responsible for a string of armed robberies that took place along the Metro-North New Haven Line this year.

In  , three armed robberies took place near the train station on Jan. 12, Jan. 31 and March 28. and Mamaroneck had one on Feb. 9.
