Police: Body Found in Hudson Could Be Linked to Missing Man

Local police, Sheriff's Department investigate the circumstances surrounding a body found in Stony Point.

A body was found in the Hudson River Monday morning off the shore of Stony Point, Rockland County authorities said.

The body of a man was spotted around 11:57 a.m. and brought to land, according to William Barbera, chief of the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Barbera said the man was deceased when recovered from the water, but had no details concerning identity or age.

Stony Point Police said there may be a link between the discovery and a missing Eastchester man, 60-year-old Frank Forgione. Forgione was last seen Thursday, Oct. 18 at 2 a.m. after leaving a dinner in Armonk.

Nancy Forgione, Frank Forgione's wife, told Patch Monday that her husband "did not have any medical problems that [the family] knows about."

Forgione's car, a black 1992 Lexus, was found near the body.

Authorities are not sure if the man's death was an accident or foul play; police said they hope to identify the body by Monday evening.
