Police Investigate Pelham Burglary Attempt

Pelham Manor police investigate attempted burglary on local business.

These are some of the cases being investigated by the Pelham Manor police department:

Attempted Burglary

On November 2, around 6:45 p.m., Pelham Manor police received a report of an attempted burglary at a business in the 4700 block of Boston Post Rd. According to police reports, someone attempted to pry the lock off the back door of the business and threw a large piece of cement at the door to break its window. The suspect(s) were not successful in entering the business.

Larceny-Shoplifting

A retail clothing store manager in the 800 block of Pelham Parkway called police after a possible shoplifting incident. The manager told police she saw a "skinny black female" and "larger black male" enter the store with an empty bag around 6:30 p.m. on November 6. The couple took several items valued at approximately $175 into a dressing room. The manager said she heard the man rushing the woman along before seeing the twosome exit the store. When the manager checked the dressing room, none of the garments had been left behind.

Larceny

A Pelham Manor resident was packing bags at his Priory Lane residence on November 4 around 4:30 in the evening. The man left of his bags on an outside table near his mailbox while he continued to retrieve bags. When he checked the first bag, he noticed an iPad valued at $450 was missing. No other items were missing.

Suspect: Elon S Sidney, 218-80 110th Ave, Queens (Blk Female, 22, 5’6) $661.28

Responded to Chase Bank on call of party attempting to pass fake check. Blk female came to bank attempted to cash check of $661.28. Teller discovered check was not legitmate. A black man joined woman in bank and appeared to be rushing her to leave. Teller told woman check would take 10 minutes to clear. Sideny said she would be right back. Neither party returned to bank. Teller provided police with copy of suspects NY drivers license and passport , copy of check.
