Police Investigating Pelham Manor Break-Ins

Pelham Manor police are investigating two recent break-ins.

Pelham Manor police are investigating two reports of home break-ins reported on the same day two weeks ago.

According to police reports, a Pelham Manor resident reported he returned to his home near James St. and Secor Lane with his family after an evening out around 9 p.m. Friday night. The man said his wife was alarmed to find their bedroom in disarray and when he checked further, he found the back door of the house had been forced open. It appeared several floors of the house had been disturbed. More than $12,000 of jewelry was reported stolen from the house including a white pillowcase missing from the resident's bed.

Around the same time that Friday night, a separate incident was reported by a homeowner near Witherbee Ave. and Pelham Manor Rd. Police reported to the home after a security alarm was triggered. Officers discovered two rear doors of the house had been opened and footprints leading away from the house. According to the police report, it appeared nothing had been disrupted inside the house.
