Police: Thief Lifts Liquor With Phony Card

A Bronx man tried to make a major liquor purchase with a bogus credit card.

Pelham Manor police arrested Andrew J. Reyes, 20, of East 145th St. in the Bronx at a liquor store in the 800 block of Pelham Parkway last week after he tried to buy a party's worth of premium label spirits.

Store managers say Reyes tried to make a major liquor purchase last week with a bogus credit card. Managers said the store had been notified the specific card number was fraudulent by the issuing credit card company in the days before the suspect tried his purchase on March 12.

Reyes attempted to buy 2 bottles of Ciroc peach vodka, 2 bottles of Moet Imperial Nectar, and one bottle each of Ciroc coconut vodka, Patron Silver tequila and Hennessy VS cognac. The total value of his attempted purchase was $366.93.
