Port Chester Taxi Driver Charged In Rape

Police: Woman attacked in cab while driver was "off duty."

A Port Chester taxi driver, who was already in jail for an unrelated incident, has been charged with raping a woman in the car he uses as a cab, according to Port Chester police.

Lt. James Ladeairous said the rape took place Monday between 1 and 5:30 a.m. in a secluded area off Boston Post Road. He said the adult female victim was attacked in the car that Wilson Manuel Morocho uses as a taxi in the Village of Port Chester.

Morocho, 30, of 375 Irving Ave., Port Chester, was not on-duty as a cab driver when the attack took place, Ladeairous said.

The rape investigation led Port Chester police to Morocho — and police knew exactly where to find him. Ladeairous said Morocho was being held in the Westchester County Jail on an unrelated incident, charged with violating a court-issued order of protection.

Ladeairous said the incident connected with the order of protection did not involve violence.

Moroch is charged with first-degree rape. He is scheduled to appear in Port Chester Village Court on June 21.
