Presidents Day: Snow Anticipated; Holiday Transportation Schedules

Precipitation is expected to cease by Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and reports the Hudson Valley region should expect snow mainly after 1 a.m. tonight, with a low around 24 degrees. There is a 90 percent chance of snow tonight, according to the NWS, as well as tomorrow, when it will likely snow primarily prior to 2 p.m. in the afternoon.

The snow "will then gradually taper off from west to east late Monday morning into early afternoon," according to the advisory.

Overnight snow accumulation may add up to one to three inches, with an additional two to four during the day tomorrow. By Monday evening, the chance of precipitation drops to 20 percent.
