Village of Pelham Manor Police Blotter: Holiday TV Heist and Counterfeit Cash

Fairway Has a Lemon and It’s Not in the Produce Section: 7/6/11

11:33 a.m.: Officers arrived at Fairway Market in Pelham Manor to seize a $10 counterfeit bill. The store’s security office called police saying that it noticed the $10 bill when store employees were doing a money count. Officers confiscate the bill as evidence and placed it in a sealed bag and documented it.

Mother and Son Produce Their Own Holiday Fireworks: 7/4/11

11:29 a.m.: A woman called police and told them she got into a heated verbal argument with her son. Officers arrived at the residence on Boston Post Road in Pelham Manor and spoke with the woman, who said she became frustrated after arguing with her son about sensitive family issues. The son told police that the exchange became heated. No one was threatened or physically injured and they both agreed to work out their differences.

Holiday TV Heist: 6/30/11

10:14 a.m.:  Officers responded to B.J's in Pelham Manor after receiving about four men allegedly stealing four Samsung televisions and threatening a store employee with a handgun. When the officers arrived, they spoke to the employee, who said the men had entered the store for five minutes and then exited with four televisions in a shopping cart. When the employee asked the man pushing the cart for his receipt, the man handed him a tissue and walked away. The employee said a second man behind the one pushing the cart revealed a handgun that was black and looked like a “380,” the employee told police. The rest of the men ran out of the store after one of their cohorts displayed the firearm. The employee then notified the store manager, who called the police. The suspects were caught on video entering and exiting the premises.  

 

Find That Fendi!: 6/30/11

3:45 p.m.: A woman told police that she lost her Fendi wallet. The wallet was last seen when she was working out at a gym in Pelham Manor from 3:45 p.m.- 4:15 p.m. When she left the gym, she went across the street to a department store, where she discovered the wallet was gone. She then reported the incident to the police and they advised her to contact all her credit card issuers and her bank.
