Woman Accused of $5,000 Mother's Day Theft

The Westchester woman faces felony charge after incident at Neiman Marcus in White Plains.

A Scarsdale woman is facing a felony charge after workers at Neiman Marcus accused her of stealing more than $5,000 worth of clothes and jewelry, White Plains Police told Patch.

Employees at the White Plains store on Paulding Street spotted the woman, 36-year-old Sharon Degani, enter the children’s department last Sunday and hide three garments in her bag, police said.

When Degani strode out of the business, employees followed, detained her and phoned cops, according to reports.

Employees soon after discovered a slew of other items stashed in Degani’s bag, including necklaces, handbags and pants—a total of 18 items worth $5,657, cops said.

Degani was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony.
