Chris Perone will return as the state representative for the 137th District for a fourth term.

Original Story

Tuesday he received 5,974 votes. His Republican opponent, Joanne Romano, received 2,918 votes.

Democrat Chris Perone, who is serving his third term as the State Representative for the 137th District, will face off on Tuesday against Republican Joanne Romano, who recently received an endorsement from the Independent Party of Connecticut, for the second time.

“The Independent Party represents commitment to realistic, common sense objectives as well as ensuring open, honest government," Romano said after announcing the endorsement. "My campaign is equally committed to these goals.”

Romano further discussed her goals when she participated in a debate against Perone on Oct. 22 at Norwalk City Hall. The two discuss issues, including the state's current tax structure and Obamacare, according to the Norwalk Citizen.

Perone stressed that he was "openly critical" of the state tax policy and is looking to make it more competitve, while Romano is looking for a complete overhaul.

When speaking of Obamacare, Perone said it was a "work in progress," while Romano revealed that she couldn't afford health insurance and that Obamacare would be a "huge burden."
