Low Turnout Reported at Pelham Polls

Few voters turned out for earlier today for the U.S. Congressional primary.

As expected, turnout for today’s U.S. Congressional primaries have been slow.

Less than 50 people had voted at the  Town House as of 3 p.m. The poll place stationed at Our Lady of Perpetual Help wasn’t faring any better, with less than 50 voters passing through as of 5:30 p.m.

“I don’t know if there was enough information given out about today’s primary,” said Barbara Walker, one of election workers at the Daranco Town House. “I had a couple of people come in and say that they just heard about it today on the radio.”

Frank Dwyer, who is leading the team of election workers at , said he expected things to pick up after people return home from work this evening.
