Pelham Manor Budget in the Black; Site Plan Discussions Scheduled Next Month

Here's a few notable items from the Monday, June 25, Pelham Manor village board meeting.

Here’s a brief roundup from Monday’s Pelham Manor village board meeting:

Village Ends 2011-2012 Fiscal Year with a budget surplus

Village Administrator John Pierpont reported that the village budget had a surplus as of May 31, the end of the 2011-2012 fiscal year. There are still some encumberances and purchase orders that need to be accounted for, but Pierpont said the village may be looking at a surplus of about a couple hundred thousand dollars.

“That will help us going into a lean year,” Mayor James O’Connor said. “In our first year facing the tax cap, any gains we can find are useful.”

Site Plan to be Presented for Former Gristedes Market

The board voted to apply a $15,000 deposit account for Urstadt Biddle Properties' site plan for 4775 Boston Post Road, the space that was once occupied by Gristedes market in the Pelham Manor Plaza.

The deposit will cover any costs associated with the site plan review. Pierpont said he doesn't know what the site plan is for, but he said Urstadt Biddle Properties is scheduled to present the plan to the board during the July 16 meeting.

Wireless Network Firm to Present Site Plan

ExteNet Systems, a company that provides network infrastructure for cell phone carriers, is seeking to install small, distributed wireless communication systems at a few locations in the village.

The company is expected to present its site plan proposal during the July 16 village board meeting. The board also voted to make ExteNet deposit $15,000 into account that will be used to cover any costs associated with the site plan review.
