Pelham Manor Issues Declaration of Emergency

Residents in flood prone areas are being urged to prepare for evacuation.

A declaration of emergency was issued in the Village of Pelham Manor at 2 p.m. today.

The declaration prohibits people from remaining on village streets if Village Manager John Pierpont deems the situation to be unsafe, or a hindrance to rescue efforts.

All places of public amusement and public assembly, other than churches, are required to close Sunday and all construction activities are prohibited as of 3 p.m. today. All buildings must be secured prior to 5 p.m. today to prevent the presence of windblown hazards.

A PDF copy of the declaration is available to the right of this story.

Also, flyers were handed to village residents in storm surge zones 1 and 2 warning them of possible flooding. Residents in those zones are being urged to prepare themselves for evacuation.

Copies of the flyers are also available to the right of this story.
