Pelham Road Repair Cash

The money is coming from the State of New York's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program.

Pelham and Pelham Manor are getting hundreds-of-thousands of dollars to help fix the roads. The money is coming from the State of New York. Officials say Pelham Manor and Pelham will be receiving more money than they got last year.

Lawmakers say that Pelham Manor will get more than $107,000, which is about 26% more cash than the municipality received last year. In Pelham, officials are set to receive more than $104,000. The figure is about 26% more than Pelham got last year.

The money comes from the State of New York's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program, which is called CHIPS for short. The program was set up by the New York State Legislature back in 1981. The money from the funds go straight to municipalities like Pelham and Pelham Manor. The money is used for road, highway and bridge repairs.
