POLL: Should Pelham Enact a Plastic Bag Ban?

A group of Pelham residents want to gain support for a ban on single-use plastic bags being used by retailers

The Pelhams Bag Initiative is launching a grassroots effort t that woud prohibit merchants in the villages of Pelhan and Pelham Manor from using single-use plastic bags.

The law would encourage shoppers to use reusable bags instead.

The City of Rye  and became the first municipality in Westchester County to do so.

The board of trustees for both Pelham and Pelham Manor said they needed more information on the law and the impact it might have on local businesses before making a decision.

Today's questions asks if you would be willing to support a plastic bag ban if it was approved locally.
