Pelham SEPTA Lecture:"What is a Neuropscyhological Evaluation and How to Know When Your Child Needs One"

On Wednesday, April 25, the Pelham SEPTA will present its final lecture for the school year - "What is a Neuropscyhological Evaluation and How to Know When Your Child Needs One" by Dr. Emily Lantz, Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist.

Dr. Lantz will review what to expect during a neuropsychological evaluation and will discuss how neuropsychological testing helps parents and treating clinicians with differential diagnosis between learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other developmental or acquired brain disorders.

A neuropsychological evaluation helps parents to better understand their child's strengths and weaknesses, intellectual abilities and academic needs (e.g. classroom and test accommodations) by providing a cognitive and learning profile for each child. The result of the evaluation is a comprehensive written report and a thorough review of test results during the verbal feedback session.
