The National Audobon Society Annual Bronx/Westchester Christmas Count

The National Audobon Society is having their annual Bronx/Westchester Christmas Count on Dec. 26.  This is an all-day bird census that you take in your own backyard!

Volunteers are needed to take the census in our natural areas and feeders in your backyard. Click here to participate or call leader/coordinator Doug Bloom for a site designation at 914-834-5202 if you would like to partipate. You can also request to be on the grounds of a nature center or park.

There will be a compilation dinner at the Lenoir Nature Center, 19 Dudley St. in Yonkers. The cost is only $10 and there will be a great selection of hot food and fabulous homemade desserts by the great bakers from the Hudson River Audubon Society. The center will be open by 4:30 p.m. for those who need a place to meet and total up your birds or just warm up. The food and count down will begin at 6:00 p.m. or when the groups have their numbers ready.
