After a nationwide search, the Pelham School District picked its new superintendent from its own home team.
Tonight, the Board of Education will hold a welcome reception for Peter Giarrizzo- currently serving as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.
The reception starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Pelham Memorial High School library and will precede the regular board of education meeting at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Staff, parents and Pelham residents are invited.
Garrizzo takes the reins as Pelham School District Superintendent in July.
“I think he will be an extraordinarily successful person as superintendent,” said Dr. Charlie Wilson, who is serving as interim superintendent and will be working to ensure a smooth transition.
