Kids Make Old-Fashioned Newspaper in Pelham

Students at Colonial Elementary got a lot of experience making their very own printed newspaper.

Students at Pelham's Colonial Elementary got a taste for the old-fashioned newspaper business recently. The students, who usually put together an online newspaper, produced an entire print paper from start to finish. The final product that the young journalists assembled was handed out to the entire school.

Students said that working on a deadline was a tough, but rewarding experience.

“Putting the newspaper together was hard because on the last day there were a lot of people that hadn’t finished their stories yet and they had to finish their stories at the last minute,” Colonial Times A&E Editor Julia Rosenberg said on the Colonial Times website. “Even though it was hard work, it was still a lot of fun and the paper turned out great.”

In addition to students getting the newspaper, parents also got copies of the paper at dismissal on March 6. The newspaper staff hopes to produce another print edition at the end of the year.
