Naomi Brickel at Pelham SEPTA Next Week

Next Wednesday, February 13, 2013, there will be a presentation from guest speaker Naomi Brickel on effective parent participation in the special education process. The presentation will be held at the Pelham Middle School Library, 28 Franklin Ave, at 7:30pm.

Brickel directs the Hudson Valley Special Education Parent Center and the Transition Resource Center, at the Westchester Institute for Human Development. The purpose of the Special Education Parent Center is to educate parents so that they can participate more meaningfully and collaborate more effectively in the special education process.

The CSE process, from identifying a child’s needs to developing a plan to educate that child, can be a daunting task. Navigating it well and participating with confidence is important to your child’s educational future. Join us as we unravel some of the issues and present best practices for actively participating in the special education process.

All SEPTA presentations are free and open to any interested members of the public.
