UPDATE: Pelham BOE Whittles List of Firms for Superintendent Search to Three

The Pelham school board chose three finalists this morning for a search to help the district hire a new superintendent.

UPDATE, 6:15 p.m.:The Pelham school board has whittled its list of firms for the district’s superintendent search down to three.

Board of Education members met earlier this morning to cut the list of eight firms that sent proposals for the district’s superintendent search.

“It wasn’t a hard process,” said Robert Eicher, president of the school board. “There were a bunch of firms that have no experience in our area and so we eliminated them. We had reference problems with another, so we eliminated  them.”

Eicher declined to name the final three firms Friday.

Eicher said that he would still like to see the  board have a search firm in place by July 1. But he admitted that the decision might take a few days longer.

“We have two to three weeks to go in order to get these interviews done, check references and do the other things needed in order to negotiate,” Eicher said.
