Pelham Manor Resident Accepted into West Point; Honored by U.S. Rep. Lowey

Lindsay Gabow, a Pelham Manor resident who has been accepted into the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, was one of 30 students honored by US Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison, last month.

Lowey had a gathering on March 13 to honor all of the students Westchester and Rockland counties that she nominated for admission to the nation’s service academies — the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

So far, Gabow is one of eight students to have been accepted for admission this summer.

Lowey also paid tribute to Joseph P. Murphy of Rye, a retired Naval officer, who for 22 years served as the chairman of her all-volunteer, non-partisan Service Academy Review Board, during the event.

Gabow is currently a senior at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Conn.
