Pelham's Messina Wins Prestigious Scholarship

The award was presented to the Pelham teen at the Random Farm Kids' Theater's annual Spring Sunset Gala.

Pelham's Felicia Messina, 15, is the proud recipient of the 2013 Alanna Calder Memorial Scholarship. The award was presented to the Pelham teen at the Random Farm Kids' Theater's annual Spring Sunset Gala. The event was held at the Ritz Carlton in White Plains.

"I am just so honored to be chosen for this," said Messina. "This was a total surprise."

The Memorial Scholarship is named after Scarsdale's Alanna Calder, who passed away at the age of 12 after a battle with leukemia. Calder was an avid participant in Random Farms' productions. The scholarship honors students whose passion for theater arts and generosity of spirit is reminiscent of Calder's enthusiasm and talent.

"We are so pleased with the turnout and are very grateful for our donors' support," said Random Farms Kids Theater Producer Anya Wallach. "The gala not only raises funds for scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year, but it also provides an opportunity for our parents to get to know each other outside of the hurried carpool routine, picking up and dropping off at rehearsals in our Elmsford studio or performances at the Tarrytown Music Hall."
