Pelham School Board at J Cafe Friday Morning

Residents can ask questions and comment on preliminary school budget this morning.

Pelham residents have another opportunity to comment and ask questions about the 2013-2014 preliminary budget currently under review by the Pelham school board.

Board members invited the community to a 'board coffee' today at J Cafe (formerly M.A.D. Cafe)-129 Wolfs Lane- at 9:30 a.m.

"As we work to keep our budget for next year within the tax cap while also maintaining favorable class size, our current programs, and proposed improvements, we welcome your input," said the email.

Earlier this week, board members discussed the possibility of maintaining, rather than cutting funding for a full-time school psychologist.

At the next board meeting on Monday, March 18, school board members will hear the recommendations of a safety evaluation conducted in the wake of Newtown school shooting in December. The budget proposal for 2013-2014 includes $150,000 for recommendations from this report.

Patch will be at J Cafe Friday morning to hear what residents and board members have to say about the school budget.
