“It is a pleasure to send greetings to the members of the New York State Association of School Nurses as you gather for your 2011 Annual Fall Conference. School Nursing has been an integral part of New York State’s education community for more than a century. Addressing students’ health care needs responsibly and professionally, school nurses are committed to ensuring the physical, emotional and psychological well-being of youth throughout the school year. These dedicated professional are often the first to identify
severe or chronic conditions through early testing and screening that many children do not receive on a regular basis. I applaud the thousands of registered nurses working in our State’s public school system and commend your roles as advocates for comprehensive and preventative health care in the school setting. With warmest regards, and best wishes for a productive meeting.”
