Pelham's Summer Stars Get a Leg-Up on the School year

Students from four elementary schools have a chance to mix it up during the six-week long "Summer Stars." The program features both academics and enrichment activities in a small group setting.

Approximately 40 Pelham students from kindergarten through fifth grade are participating in "Summer Stars" this year. The  six-week program offered by the District ensures students will maintain fundamental skills for their grade.

Teacher in Charge, Jackie Soccodato, from Hutchinson School, said in a release from the district,  “Our goal is to ensure these students start in September with a stronger foundation.”

The summer program includes students from four elementary schools and focuses on both Math and English Language Arts, with groups benefitting from smaller numbers than typical school year class sizes.
