Retirement Party for Pelham Middle School Principal Scheduled for This Evening

Pelham Middle School Principal Joseph Longabardi is retiring at the end of this month after a 39 year career with the school district.

 

Parents, students and alumni of the Pelham school district are encouraged to stop by the middle school for this evening’s going away party for Joseph Longobardi.

Longobardi, is retiring as the principal of Pelham Middle school . He  The party, which is sponsored by the middle school PTA, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the school courtyard.

Longobardi’s has been with Pelham schools for 39 years. He began as the first special education teacher in the district with an assignment teaching  special education students in grades 4-6 at Hutchinson Elementary School.  

He served as acting principal at Hutchinson during 1982-83 and was appointed principal of Colonial in 1983.  For several years, he was also principal at Siwanoy. In 1992, he became principal at Pelham Middle School.
