Sandy 1, Halloween 0: Trick-or-Treat Postponed to Saturday

Halloween is another casualty of Hurricane Sandy. How are you dealing with it?

If it weren't for Hurricane Sandy, the children of Pelham would be parading in their costumes and enjoying the great kick-off of holiday season that is Halloween.

But the Pelham School District has just released a statement closing school for the rest of the week and asking parents to hold off on trick-or-treating until the weekend:

Due to power outages, inoperable traffic and street lights, downed wires and debris on sidewalks, Halloween trick or treating is canceled for today October 31st. It is strongly recommended that trick or treating take place on Saturday November 3rd as early as possible and be completed by 7pm.

Alas, Hurricane Sandy with blustering winds has managed to blow over all the plans for trick-or-treating, apple bobbing, parading and Haunted House visiting.

What will you do tonight?
