ViewFinder: High School Spring Band Concert

PMHS students hit the stages with their instruments at the Spring Band Concert.

On Thursday, June 16, Pelham Memorial High School held its annual outdoor spring concert. The event was supposed to be held two weeks prior, but threats of tornadoes forced the school board to postpone. Although there were dark clouds in the sky and a  few raindrops this time around, the concert went on as planned Thursday.

As is tradition, one piece was the main attraction for the night. This year, that was Mussorgsky's famous, "Pictures at an Exhibition." Although the group had not practiced since June 10, when school officially let out, they pulled together to play the number beautifully.

For the seniors of both the larger band and the smaller stage band, it was a night to remember and shine. They presented the band teacher Campbell Whitford  with a motorcycle helmet with their signatures on it as a token of appreciation for all of his hard work with the band.
