“I am the captain of the team, and we have had the team for about five or six years now. Together we’ve done different community things to raise money.”

Although he has diabetes, Lang lives a normal life by properly managing his glucose levels.

“I play both baseball and football, so I always have to be ready to eat something on the sidelines if I am low. It’s easy to manage now,” Lang said.

Lang has a strong commitment to giving back in the community. In addition to Douglas’ All Stars, Lang also has volunteered with various organizations and places like the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, REACH OUT, Pelham Art Center, and Hope Community Services. In his freshman year of high school he was awarded the JDRF “Promise to Remember Me” Volunteer Award.
