Whiz Kid's School:  Pelham Memorial High School

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment:

• Honored by the Pelham Board of Education for an outstanding Varsity Swim Season. 
• Broke three school records in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and in the 100 backstroke during the 2010 season.
• Competed in the New York State meet in two events, the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Lissy came in 17th in the 200 freestyle and finished 23rd in the 100 backstroke.
• Belongs to STAND --an Anti-Genocide Coalition--that has more than 600 high school and college chapters dedicated to putting an end to genocide.  This chapter aims to help raise awareness and money to give humanitarian aid to help end genocide in Darfur.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:

"Lissy has matured so much since I first met her two years ago," remarked swim coach Amy Colantuono. "She has proved herself as a leader of our team, always communicating and helping out younger girls on the team."

Lissy also sticks around the pool in the summer, lifeguarding at Pelham Country Club.  

One of Lissy's secrets to her success is her dedication and determination. She is the first one in the pool at practice and she never misses a practice. 

"She always gives 100 percent each and everyday," said Colantuono.
